Exciting news from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame today as it was announced Chicago has been inducted into the 31st class of honorees! The long overdue honor is extra special as fans voted them as their number one choice for induction this year.
Other acts voted in include my hometown boys Cheap Trick, The Steve Miller Band, Deep Purple and N.W.A. HBO will broadcast the official ceremony in the spring.
Chicago will surely be energized for their upcoming “Heart and Soul Tour” with Earth, Wind and Fire which includes an April 5 stop at Nationwide Arena in Columbus! It was always going to be a phenomenal show with the two legendary bands…but now the evening will have an extra celebratory tone!
I’ve been saying for years how Chicago has been wrongly overlooked for induction into the Hall, especially with their innovative and ground-breaking brass sound that dominated the AM Top 40 airwaves in the 70’s and 80’s. Scores of hits followed, but it was the early sound that had you recognize the band within the first few notes.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have honored them; now they will honor us by performing at Nationwide Arena on April 5! Can’t wait for what will be an amazing night!
