TWO COLUMBUS ARENA STARS NAMED TO ‘DANCING WITH THE STARS’ CAST!
Two upcoming performers at the Columbus arenas were just named to the cast of the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars!” Olympic superstar Laurie Hernandez and rapper Vanilla Ice will perform on the show along with a diverse group of competitors including Ryan Lochte, former Presidential candidate Rick Perry, country singer Jana Kramer, Babyface, “Brady Bunch” star Maureen McCormick and seven others.
Laurie Hernandez is a part of the exciting Final Five who wowed viewers with their gymnastic excellence during the recent Rio Olympics by winning nine medals, the best medal output for a U.S. Olympic Women’s Gymnastics Team in history besting the previous record of eight by the 1984 and 2008 teams. Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman and Madison Kocian are the other members of the historic “Final Five” who are all scheduled to be a part of the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastic Champions at Nationwide Arena on October 22.
Vanilla Ice, who rose to fame in 1990 with his hits “Play That Funky Music” and most notably his platinum classic “Ice Ice Baby,” will be a part of the illustrious roster of acts on the “I Love the 90’s” Tour playing the Schottenstein Center on November 13. Other acts on the bill include Salt N’ Pepa, Kid N’ Play, All 4 One, Coolio and Young MC. (Artists are subject to change).
The 23rd season of “Dancing with the Stars” will premiere September 12 on ABC.

TICKETS FOR THE WORLD CHAMPION CLEVELAND CAVALIERS ON SALE TODAY FOR THEIR OCTOBER 18 PRE-SEASON GAME AT THE SCHOTTENSTEIN CENTER!
What person is credited with selling more tickets than anyone in the history of the Schottenstein Center? If you are thinking a superstar in the world of music, you would be wrong. The correct answer is King James! In LeBron James’ career playing in the OHSAA basketball tournaments and Cleveland Cavaliers pre-season games, he is responsible for selling up to 500,000 tickets! Amazing number for sure, and it shows the impact the legendary star has…something the Cleveland economy has known since his return to the team in 2014. The most exciting team in basketball, the Cleveland Cavaliers, will be right here in Columbus at the Schottenstein Center October 18 to take on the Washington Wizards. Tickets went on sale TODAY (August 31).
KANYE WEST DEBUTS NEW VIDEO ON THE VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS; THE FINAL FIVE PRESENT AWARD TO BEYONCE!
After a typical confusing Kanye diatribe on MTV’s 2016 Video Music Awards, he premiered his steamy new video “Fade.” MTV had given him four minutes to say or do anything he wanted before he premiered his video. Most people scratched their heads in confusion trying to figure out whatever it was he said, but were amazed at his stunning new video and great new song. Kanye was just being the Kanye we all know and jam to. Look forward to hearing him and “Fade” live when he brings his genius and Saint Pablo Tour to the Schottenstein Center on September 25.
The Olympic Women’s Gymnasts have been everywhere lately after returning home from their historic time in Rio…including the VMA’s. There they met Kanye, Kim Kardashian, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande, and Beyonce! They were beside themselves when they presented Queen Bey with the Best Female Video Award. What an exciting time for these amazing athletes! By the way, The Final Five were actually ‘four’ that night as Gabby was ill.
COMING UP THIS WEEK
Rock and Roll Hall of Famers AC/DC will rock the Nationwide Arena stage this Sunday (September 4) when they bring their “Rock or Bust” tour to Columbus. The concert will feature a new lead singer on this tour- the legendary hall of famer Axl Rose, who replaced Brian Johnson due to hearing issues and retirement from the band. The show, which has been receiving incredible reviews, features their classics as well as some tunes not performed in some time. AC/DC was inducted in the Hall in 2005; Axl was inducted with his Guns n’ Roses bandmates in 2012.
