THIS WEEK WITH THE ARENA GUY: NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers Coming to Columbus, and Recapping the Fun at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey!

The Columbus Arenas are crazy busy with activity between upcoming events, exciting new concerts and events, and on-sales.  Coming this week:  King James and the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers take on the Washington Wizards in a pre-season game at the Schottenstein Center on Tuesday, October 18.  Down the road a few days later on 10/22, Nationwide Arena will host the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastic Champions.

IN THE NEXT BLOG: The Arena Guy will review the recent concert announcements and on-sale information including Roger Waters and Bon Jovi.  Also, look for The Arena Guy’s conversation with 3-time Olympic gymnast Blaine Wilson who will discuss the amazing Final Five that won our hearts last summer with their incredible talent and charming personalities, plus he will discuss his time as an Olympian including his experiences on the post-Olympics “Tour of Gymnastics Champions”  and what people can expect at the performance Saturday (10/22) at Nationwide Arena.

But for now, let’s look at the Cavs v. Wizards at the Schott, and The Arena Guy clowning around at the always fun Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey with the all-new production of “Out of This World” presented at the Schottenstein Center October 14 – 16.

LeBron James has always been clear that if he hadn’t gone straight from high school to the pros, he would have been a Buckeye!  To honor his love for the Ohio State University, a permanent locker in the Men’s Basketball locker room was named just for King James.  The Arena Guy got to see the locker up close and talked to Dave Egelhoff, the Director of Operations for OSU Men’s Basketball, to get the inside scoop on what LeBron and this locker means to the OSU Men’s Basketball program and for recruiting. Check out the video below.

CAVS SUPER FANS DISCUSS HOW COOL IT IS THAT THE WORLD CHAMPIONS WILL PLAY IN COLUMBUS!

Diehard Cavs fans Brooke Bockelman and Tim Filipovich, both from Columbus, joined other friends in Cleveland to experience the Parade and Celebration after the Cavs won the NBA Championship. They were among  the 1.3 million enthusiastic fans at the event! Check out the video below of Brooke and Tim share their excitement of The Cavs playing a pre-season game at the Schottenstein Center on 10/18!

TRULY THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!

The always entertaining Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus wowed families with their all-new production “Out of This World” October 14 -16 at the Schottenstein Center!  The Arena Guy had a blast ‘clowning around” at the show. One highlight was Ringling Bros. clown Professor Renzo who TRIED to teach The Arena Guy how to juggle.  Professor Renzo said young children could easily do it.  Could the Arena Guy?  Well, watch this video to find out.

 

So impressed by Professor Renzo’s clown makeup, The Arena Guy decided he should become a clown to and got his face painted too. What wasn’t captured on video were the little kids in line who pointed at him and laughed! One said, “Mommy, look at that old person get painted!” Oh well..Check out the video of The Arena Guy being one of the first people ever to get his face painted by this artist!

 

Most of all, the Arena Guy had fun just ‘clowning around!’ Check out the video!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus was such fun!!!!  The whole experience turned The Arena Guy into a kid again!  For those who may have missed it this year, make sure to make plans to attend next year with your family! It is surely ‘The Greatest Show on Earth!”
